Re-Do

This is the new version of the blog for me, Mike Witty. I am a lighting tech at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB for all the concerts that are performed there.

Also, I am the Game Day Manager for Bison Sports (hockey teams) at the University of Manitoba.

Another job I enjoy is timekeeping hockey at Canlan Ice Sports.

During the Canadian football season, I volunteer for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers helping the equipment management team during practices. During game day, I am responsible for pregame coordinating of the presentation of the Canadian flag during the National Anthem.

Born in 1969 in St. Boniface and raised in Winnipeg.

In early 1992, moved to Vancouver, BC to be with family as I went through cancer treatment.

In July 1992, spent a year with a revue show called Up With People traveling the world. Spent 6 months in the United States, 4 months in northern Europe and 2 months in southern Ontario. Had a blast on tour. Met some very great people, saw some great places and have great memories.

Went to Douglas College in New Westminster, BC taking Stagecraft. After finishing college, I spent a few months (early 1997) again with Up With People working a staging of a show as Head Carpenter, Head Painter and Head of Props.

Later in 1997, I joined Royal Caribbean International as a Stage Staff member. Spent nearly 7 years with them cruising the 7 seas. After 8 years of traveling (1 with UWP and 7 with RCI), I have visited 72 different countries on 6 different continents.

Back in 2004, moved back to Winnipeg where as I mentioned, work at the MTS Centre, Canlan Ice Sports and Bison Sports. Back in the summer of 2013, I joined as a volunteer with CKUW radio as a music DJ on Tuesday nights at midnight. Well...Until next time...
